Time to Say Goodbye to the Fake “Denture Look” with Natural Looking Dentures
For many years, dentures have always been called fake teeth. While this might be the case, dentures don’t have to act or look unnatural. - Removable partial dentures: Partial dentures are used when you are missing a number of your teeth. These dentures are secured in place by the remaining teeth. Partial dentures not only fill your mouth spaces but also prevent the remaining teeth from shifting.
- Complete dentures: If you miss all your teeth or an entire arch of teeth, Dr. Scola recommends full dentures. Complete dentures are secured in place with suction, adhesives, or implants placed at strategic angles.
Complete dentures can be immediate or conventional. Conventional dentures are used when your teeth have been extracted and your gums have healed. Immediate dentures are placed immediately after your teeth are removed, meaning you won’t be missing teeth at any point, even during the healing process. Once your gums heal and shrink, adjustments will have to be made to your dentures.
